Metro and short train ride north to Kyoto. Spent the afternoon just exploring the local markets and some of the temples.

Kyoto 04/12/25 - 07/12/25

Full day venturing up to Nishiki market alley - overwhelmed by food and fish non of which I'd come across before. Back through the Kyoto Gyoen national garden.

Train up to Arashiyama to explore the bamboo forest. Luckily got there early as it's a serious tourist destination. A bit of sanity can be found in the Ocochi gardens. Headed back into Kyoto to visit Honganji Monzencho Buddhist monasteries.
