Day 20 travel Vancouver to Kelowna

30/05/2025

train to plane to bus

Leaving Vancouver was emotional. It was a place I got to know well and felt completely at home. The city has so much to offer. Culturally it is a rich mix of people and it's clear that heritage is an important factor especially with reference to indigenous populations. It seems there is an awareness of how important we are as custodians of the land.

Leaving Vancouver train from Waterfront station direct to the airport. Flight out to Kelowna a measly 41 minutes and then a couple of local buses to get downtown. Apparently they have a similar climate to California which is why wine is one of the biggest commodities in the region. It's also hot. Beer seems to be high up on the list of 'things to be proud of'....I can validate the 'Darth lager' brewed by the Kelowna beer institute. Every can is hand signed.
